B-17G FLYING FORTRESS "A BIT 'O LACE" Nose art on airplanes can reflect the crew's personal feelings, offer a dedication or tribute or, more frequently, the nose serves as a billboard for pinup girls. This nose art is based on a character created by cartoonist Milton Caniff. Miss Lace was featured in a strip printed in Army newspapers. This airplane had been damaged and a wing from another B-17 replaced "Lace"s unpainted left wing. The painting instructions and decals let you make a very unusual model of this plane with "battle damage". #14519 -1/144 Scale $14.99
