Minicraft Model Kits new #14593 represents the C-130A deployed in Vietnam and includes both 105 MM gun and 7.65 miniguns used so effectively to blanket enemy positions in South-east Asia in the late 1960s and early 1970s. 14450.pct United DC-8-61 The DC-8-61 was the first of the DC-8 aircraft to take to the air and utilized early GE engine design. The DC-8 was developed to compete with the very successful Boeing 707 but the goal at Douglas was to go beyond just designing an airplane to compete with the 707.Ê The DC-8 was built to a flexible design that could be adapted to technological evolution that would inevitably come with aerospace developments. After over 40 years in the air, the DC-8 design has been vindicated with that "expand-ability" built into the original DC-8 design.

Minicraft Model Kits new DC-8-61 is built to accurate 1/144 scale and features recessed panel lines, detailed landing gear and offer the first of the early GE engines used on the DC-8. Markings represent the early United Airlines livery. The Minicraft Model DC-8 kits have been recognized to be among the best 1/144 scale airline models ever made. #14592 -1/144 Scale $38.99 New For 2008
